Mission
Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning will create an environment through inclusiveness, instructional best-practices, and mental/social/behavioral supports to nurture individuals academically, socially, and emotionally so that they are equipped to overcome challenges and prosper in life by becoming personally prepared for college, career, and community.

History:

Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning, formerly known as Los Puentes Charter School was founded in 2002.  LPCS was the vision of Nancy Jo Archer, CEO of Hogares, Inc.  She saw the need for a supportive mental/emotional/behavioral educational setting for youth experiencing difficulty with the traditional school setting, and were considered at-promise.  A committee comprised of educators, mental health professionals, and community volunteers worked for a year to assure that Los Puentes would be a dynamic and effective charter school.

Upon receiving designation as an APS approved-authorized charter school, the committee became the Governing Council when the school opened August of 2002.  Los Puentes has been located at several temporary sites until 2010 when it moved to its present location at the corner of 4th St. NW and Headingly Ave. in the North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The vision for the original committee was to have an innovative, supportive mental/emotional/behavioral education setting for youth that would enable them to have a successful educational experience and ultimately graduate from high school and a successful future.
